MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMME IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY 
(MSc in ICT) - (Ms Word Version Attached)

The National University of Rwanda in partnership with the Blekinge 
Institute of Technology (BTH) (Sweden) announces the MSc in ICT Program 
for admission into 2005 academic year. This program is supported by the 
Government of the Republic of Rwanda and the Swedish International 
Development Agency (SIDA). The program will cover two main fields of 
ICT.

1) COMPUTER SCIENCE / SOFTWARE ENGINEERING  
2) TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The duration of each program is two (2) years, which is equivalent to 
four (4) academic semesters.
The program shall be in English.

ELIGIBILITY:

OPTION I: - COMPUTER SCIENCE / SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

In order to be admitted to the discipline Computer Science / Software 
Engineering, the candidate shall have one of the following 
qualifications:

1)Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; or
2)Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering 
(Telecommunication Engineering or Electronic Systems biased) or 
equivalent.

OPTION II: - TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

In order to be admitted to the discipline Telecommunication Engineering 
the candidate shall have the following qualification:

1)Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering 
(Telecommunication Engineering or Electronic Systems biased) or 
equivalent.

Candidates are requested to send a written letter addressed to the Dean 
of the Faculty of Science and Technology. The following under listed 
documents are to be added:

- A letter of request for admission; 
- Certified Photocopy of Original Certificate of Secondary School 
Education;
- Certified Photocopy of original Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate 
field of study mentioned above;
- Certified Transcripts of University studies;
- A recommendation letter from employer for those who are workers; 
- A proof of scholarship or subsistence allowance for the studies 
preferably.

The deadline for the submission of application for admission is Friday, 
24th September 2004.

Selection of candidates for interview will be on 8th October 2004, and 
the short listed candidates will be published on the website of the 
National University of Rwanda and in the National dailies on 22nd 
October 2004. Interview will take place on the 11th and 12th November 
2004. The list of the successful selected candidates after the 
interview shall be published on the website of the National University 
of Rwanda on 16th November 2004.

The successful candidates after the interview will pay:

- A non-refundable amount of 40,000.00 (forty thousands) Rwandan Francs 
or equivalent for the application form;
- Tuition fees of US Dollars 1,500 (2,500) or equivalent for Rwandans 
(Foreigners) at the beginning of the 2005  academic year;
- Accommodation and subsistence allowance are not included in the fees.
